Manila, Philippines - In an exciting collaboration between the Department of Science and Technology-Philippine Council for Industry, Energy and Emerging Technology Research and Development (DOST-PCIEERD) and De La Salle University's Center for Business Research and Development (CBRD), the Skills in Technical and Advanced Research Training (START) Center proudly announces the call for trainers for the Filipinnovation Entrepreneurship Corps 5 (FEC5).
FEC5, a project under DOST-PCIEERD's Short-term Program for Researchers Innovation and Technopreneurs (SPRINT), aims to deliver an education program that empowers DOST-funded researchers to assess the commercial and societal value of their research effectively. By doing so, the program seeks to increase the potential for the commercialization of these technologies and stimulate innovation through entrepreneurship.
With the support of the USAID STRIDE RTI-funded START Center, launched in April 2021, De La Salle University has been at the forefront of fostering innovation and entrepreneurship. Building on the success of similar initiatives since 2018, which led to significant market validation for team projects, the FEC5 program will train multiple trainers to expand its current pool of certified trainers in this tradition of excellence.
Through initiatives like FEC5, DOST-PCIEERD, De La Salle University, and esteemed experts like "The Six Sigma Guy," we are working hand in hand to cultivate a culture of innovation and entrepreneurship in the Philippines. By equipping researchers with the skills and knowledge necessary to translate their research into impactful ventures, these efforts are poised to drive economic growth and societal advancement in the country.
