Jagadish "Jaggi" Vasudev, better known as Sadhguru who have spoken among United Nations, UNESCO, World Economic Forum, World Bank, House of Lords, TED, Microsoft, Google, Stanford, Harvard, Yale, Wharton, and MIT to name a fewโ€”is the author of Inner Engineering and the Founder of Isha Foundation. His mission is to uplift rural areas through environmental stewardship and healthy living which was supported by the Dalai Lama, Leonardo Di Caprio, Deepak Chopra, will.i.am and heaps of other famous personalities.

Without having a Ph.D.โ€”as it sounds like a dead-end to him, he started leading the advocacy of yogic sciences and hails as one of the Top 50 of the Most Powerful Indians today. With an uncompromising belief that consciousness is the precursor to a full-fledged life, he thinks that everyone must always be attentive and we should pay attention to everything that is in front of us; without judgment regardless if we care about it or not. This is what he calls the Yogic Process. It is true that we cannot make everybody's mind peaceful but in order to reach a blissful state, we must explore, know and experience beneath the superficial.

Sadhguru explains that life can be physically hard but mental hardship only happens out of our own perception. If you do hard things willingly, it will end up being a joyful experience but if you do it with reservation, it will feel horrendous. Turn your impulsive reactions into conscious responses. This is the key to life and graceful demise. If you decorate your problems, you might not get rid of them. Your intelligence either works for you or against you. Thus, ideas shall not be learned but embodied. In fact, you donโ€™t need motivation unless you feel miserable. Talking to someone may not give you solutions but it will provide you with clarity. So instead of focusing on how much is being done, change your focus to how itโ€™s being done. The more bitterness, the wiser you should be.

He also argues that money can only make you socially successful but not truly successful. In ancient times, more men died because of constant war and hunting for food. Centuries later, surviving shifted from hunting to going to the office. Since society determines your choice then it is not even a choice. Life's potential is not about reaching the peak, itโ€™s about the trajectory. You will be dead for a million years and will only live for less than a hundred so don't be motivated for the end.

Talking about a problem, Sadhguru speaks about the biggest one that we have. We keep talking about the afterlife when in fact paradise is the harmony of all the living things around us including the source. What is the source? The Earth is. It is a source and not a resource. We should not exploit it but nourish it. Our civilization will reach a breaking point. If soil degradation continues at its current rate, 90% of the worldโ€™s soil will be degraded by 2050. With this, he insists that people should come together to fulfill a cause. More than half of the worldโ€™s agricultural land has lost its nutritional value. This will make the next generation less than who we are. It is a crime against humanity: using the soil of the unborn child. They should be a step ahead of us not behind us. Almost every scientist is now claiming that by 2045 the world will have 20% less food and the nutrients of crops from 1914 to 2018 already dropped between 80% to 90%. What eating 1 orange can do in the 1960s takes 8 oranges these days and it is impossible for a human to do that regularly. If we fail to act now, the damage will be irreversible. The land is finite so when hunger spikes, our society will lose the sense of humanity and begin acting like animals. Remember, this planet is an extension of yourself. We must roll up our sleeves to stop the conquest and exploitation. First, you have a vote then you have a voice. Never sit on your laurel as the true hallmark of intelligence is consciousness.
