Supply Chain Professional Receives Lean Six Sigma Green Belt Certification

MAKATI CITY, Philippines - Six Sigma PH's Lean Six Sigma Master Black Belt- Rex "The Six Sigma Guy" Tuozo, awarded Lean Six Sigma Green Belt Certification to Carlo Anton Chua, Distribution Operations Head of SMC Shipping and Lighterage, a subsidiary of San Miguel Corporation. Anton, a Chemical Engineer, managed the project for 7 months and closed last January 2016. The project eliminated the industrial fuel oil run of one of San Miguel's depots and yielded a projected annualized cost savings of at least P23 Million pesos. "It gave me and my team a sense of achievement, by creating an impact for the organization, and being the first team that completed a Lean Six Sigma project for San Miguel," Chua said. "I have learned the importance of being data-driven, and what Rex is always preaching about Lean Six Sigma: always keep things simple to make the facilitation of Lean Six Sigma tools effective," Chua added.
