MAKATI CITY, Philippines - Formerly with Icomteq Solutions, a full-service company engaged in developing business software and providing technical support to its clients, Anne Krissy Amo earned her Lean Six Sigma Green Belt Certification last February of 2014.

“Current company back then was struggling and we were in pursuit of a sustainable solution. We thought Lean Six Sigma is something we can explore” –Anne Krissy Amo, Certified Lean Six Sigma Green Belt

To be certified in Lean Six Sigma, one has to complete an actual Lean Six Sigma project and apply process improvement tools, methodology, and techniques learned in class. "That's one reason why companies give high value to Certified Lean Six Sigma individuals. One does not just attend a program and receive his certification but has to successfully apply and show proper use of tools and methodology with actual work processes. One has to earn his Lean Six Sigma certification," Tuozo said. "If you attend our Lean Six Sigma programs, unlike other training providers, you get continuous support after the program, for no additional cost. You'll be assigned a Black Belt to help you complete your project," Tuozo added.

The focus of Krissy’s project was about addressing invalid escalations that were generated by their Customer Service Department. With the help of Lean Six Sigma tools and methodologies, they were able to significantly reduce these invalid escalations from an average of 100 down to 11 per month; leading to an annual savings of thirty thousand dollars.

Moreover, Krissy also mentioned how being a Certified Lean Six Sigma practitioner affected her as a professional and an individual; Stating that people around her tend to be more confident in what she does and that it also makes it easier for her to express her prognosis and suggestions scientifically.

In the ending parts of the interview, when asked what would be her message to those who are currently conducting your project, she left us with a very brief, frank, and practical message: “Finish your project. It is worth every second of your time.” -Krissy
