Maxicare's Compliance Officer Receives Green Belt Certification After Saving P500K+

MAKATI CITY, Philippines - The Philippines gained another Certified Lean Six Sigma Green Belt last February 9. Brandon's project was about improving the Closure Rate of the Corrective and Preventive Action Reports/CPARs. This project not only earned him his Green Belt Certification but also brought Maxicare financial savings of P510,000.00 - which is just an initial count, so we can probably say that the savings are far more than the said amount. 

Also on that day, was the last day of our first Green Belt Class this 2018. The graduating wave was fortunate enough to witness the awarding and gather a few insights from the awardee's testimonial about his project. Brandon Also left a few tips for the group and encouraged them to complete their project and get certified.

Q. What prompted you to take the Lean Six Sigma Workshop? 
A. I wanted to learn and be certified in Lean Six Sigma.

Q. What Prompted you to start your project? 
A. Continual Improvement of the Organization and Myself.

Q. What was your project about? 
A. To Improve the Closure Rate of the Corrective and Preventive Action Reports/CPARs.

Q. What was it like for you, starting up and executing your own project?
A. To be honest it was very difficult. Because it wasn't sanctioned by the organization and nobody is really familiar with Lean Six Sigma.

Q. What were the results of your project? 
A. Successfully improved the People, Process, and System in resolving Problems.

Q. Among/Aside from the Action Items that were done, what were the key elements that led to the success of your project?
A.I. was finally able to get the support of the President and CEO of the Organization.

Q. What was the impact of your project on your company? 
A. The initial financial savings was around P510,000.00

Q. What was the impact of being a certified Lean Six Sigma Green Belt on you as an individual / professional?
A. Confidence and New Knowledge.

Q. What would be your message to those who are currently taking/planning to take the Green Belt Program or those who are currently conducting their own projects? 
A. Senior Management Team's Blessings, Communicate the Benefits to the Process Owners, Make use of the Six Sigma Circuit, Business Analysis, Project Management, Do your Risk Management, and Be a Leader.

Q. Is there anything else that you'd like to share about your experience?
A. Passion and Grit - You will LEARN and UNDERSTAND the meaning of these 2 words during your journey, especially during hardship.
